Looking for an alternative to takeout that’s easy to whip up within your own kitchen? This delicious sweet & spicy tofu served over flavorful, fluffy rice is the perfect answer. We cannot get enough of this and fair warning… you might not too.

Ingredients for Brown Rice:

  • 1 Cup Brown rice
  • 2 Cups Vegetable broth
  • ¼ Cup Yellow onion, diced
  • 1 Clove of garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp Vegan butter

Ingredients for Stir Fry:

  • 1 Head of broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 Cloves of garlic, minced
  • ½ Yellow onion, diced
  • 1 Tsp Red pepper flakes
  • 1 Tsp Sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp Olive oil
  • ¼ Cup Vegetable broth
  • 10 oz. Extra firm tofu, pressed and cut into 1” cubes
  • 1.5 Tbsp Arrowroot starch
  • 1 Tbsp Olive oil

Ingredients for Sweet & Spicy Sauce:

  • ⅓ Cup Sweet chili sauce
  • ¼ Cup Fix Signature sriracha
  • 2 Tbsp Tamari
  • ½ Cup Water
  • 2 Tbsp Garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp Arrowroot starch


  • To cook the brown rice, heat the butter on medium heat in a small saucepan. Add the onion and garlic and cook for 3 minutes, until the garlic is fragrant. Add in broth and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add rice and reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 30 minutes. Fluff with a fork once done!
  • While the rice is cooking, you’ll have just enough time to complete the rest of the meal. In a large pan, add olive oil and turn on medium heat.
  • After heating up olive oil, toss the tofu with arrowroot starch and cook for about 2 minutes per side until all sides are golden brown. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Add garlic, onion, broccoli, red pepper flakes, sesame seeds, and salt. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until broccoli is fully cooked.
  • Add a pinch of olive oil to a small saucepan and heat on medium. Add garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add in all other ingredients except for the arrowroot starch. Bring the mix to a light simmer, and slowly whisk in the arrowroot starch. The sauce should begin to thicken, if it is not, add in a pinch more arrowroot starch.
  • Once the sauce is ready, toss the tofu with the sweet and spicy sauce. Serve over a bed of rice and broccoli. Add extra sauce on the top and enjoy this healthier alternative to takeout! For extra spice, drizzle with more Fix Signature Sriracha!
